culminates with an informal group performance and tour of art exhibits created by the campers.

Art Span is donating one week of full-day camp between June 30th and August 22nd, 2008.

104     Lexington Symphony Season Opener:  Mozart's Requiem
You and a friend will be swept off your feet with the emotion of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Requiem, featuring the New
World Chorale with the Lexington Symphony, on September 13th, 2008 at 8.00pm at Cary Hall.  The Requiem Mass in D
minor was composed in 1791, when Mozart knew his life was coming to an end.  It was indeed Mozart's last composition,
and is one of his most powerful and recognized works, not only for its music, but also for the debate over how much of the
music he managed to complete before his death, and how much was later composed by his student Franz Xaver Sussmayr.
Despite debate about how much of the music was Mozart's, the Requiem has taken a prominent place
as one of his most important works, and was the focal point of the movie "Amadeus".  Don't miss the free conductor's talk
before the concert at 7.00pm with Music Director Jonathan McPhee, always illuminating and entertaining.
